ESCA Launches Innovative New Art Project

Nancy Metzger, President of the Evergreen Club, TelecomPioneers, awarded a grant to East Suburban Citizen Advocacy. The grant will be used to fund a new art project for people with special needs. Li Duffus, owner of Chaye Coffee and Tea Shop, has generously offered the use of her shop for art classes and an art gallery to display the work created by the talented people served by East Suburban Citizen Advocacy.

Telecom Pioneers Support Miracle ComplexHilda Martino, a 64 year member of the Telecom Pioneers, and her husband John, a Pioneer Partner, presented a check to Kate Cala, Executive Director of East Suburban Citizen Advocacy and Miracle League Athletic Complex committee member. The Martinos, long time supporters of ESCA, requested endorsement for the project through the Fort Pitt Chapter #13 President Marilyn Stevens.

FR Lady Panthers Basketball to Host Clelian Heights Students

The FR Lady Panthers basketball team and boosters have invited the student and families from Clelian Heights as their guests on Thursday, January 6. The evening will include a scrimmage on the high school court with the Clelian Heights basketball team as well as a special on-court presentation from the FR players at halftime of the Varsity game.

Schedule forthe evening will begin with the junior varsity game at 6 pm, and on-court presentation at 7pm, and the varsity game at 7:30 pm. The Clelian Heights team will take the court at halftime, around 8 pm.

Also to be included is the cheerleading squad from Clelian Heights.

The Franklin Regional Pep Band will also be in attendance.

Kiwanis Club of Murrysville Supports ESCA

The Kiwanis Club of Murrysville recently presented a check for $500 to East Suburban Citizen Advocacy. Accepting the check are Kate Cala and Rose House.

ESCA Celebrates the Season

ESCA Celebrates the SeasonEarly in December, over 200 friends of East Suburban Citizen Advocacy gathered for their annual holiday celebration. The local non-profit that finds volunteer supports for individuals with developmental disabilities hosted an afternoon of singing, dancing, and socializing. ESCA student intern, Lauren Cunkelman, said she enjoyed watching the happy interactions of friends coming together and enjoying good company. Highlights of the afternoon were Alex Siegel’s piano concert, the Auberle choir, the Dorsch family hula hoop dances and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
